Global Talent Independent Visa has been created to provide Permanent Residence with Families to individuals who are skilled in one of the 10 target sectors and are able to earn a salary threshold of AUD$ 153,600/year, or be a high a performing recent PhD, Masters or Honours graduate.
This visa was started in November 2019. The Department of Home Affairs tripled the quota for this visa for FY 2020-21 to 15,000 places

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for this visa:
- Age 18-55 years
- Have Functional level English
- Meet Health and Character Requirements [Have PCC and Clear Medicals]
- Prove the ability to attract the income threshold of AUD$153,600 by:
- Proving a salary of AUD$153,600/year OR
- Job Offer in Australia outlining a salary of AUD$153,600/year OR
- Is a Recent PhD, in the 10 Target Sectors [Places are also available to PhD graduates, and certain PhD students who are nearing completion of their thesis and can demonstrate their exceptional talent and international recognition in a target sector].
- Have a Nominator with a national reputation in the same field as you [Australian Citizen, PR Holder, Highest Peak Body like ACS, EA, Supervisor in a University etc.]
