Tasmania has announced the intake of applications for the migration year 2021-22 with its online portal opening at 12:00 on 4th August 2021
- 2200 places for Subclass 491
- 1100 places for Subclass 190
- 500 places for those who had lodged an Expression of Interest for Tasmania for the year 2020-21 will be rolled on and carried forward to the year 2021-22
Tasmania has made a clear statement on the need for migrants for the development of the state and the challenges it faces owing to the aged-working population which the migrants are expected to make up for.
The nominations rolled out by the state will priorities the critical skills followed by the non-critical skills. Offshore applicants fall under Category 3A. The occupation list and the eligibility criteria has been published for those belonging to this category wherein having the occupation listed on the Tasmanian Skilled Occupation List [TSOL] is essential among other requirements specified in the notes. The critical skills encompass a broad list of occupations that fall under the following industries: Infrastructure, Engineering, Irrigation, Transportation, Planning, Maintenance, Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply of Essential Goods etc.
