Engineers Australia Takes A Tougher Call On Engineers Applying For Skilled Migration To Australia
The Engineers Australia [EA] conducts Skills Assessments for Migration Purposes for all Engineering occupations except the ICT/Software Engineers. For Indians, the assessment pathway for a Skills Assessment is the Competency Demonstration Report Pathway. Applicants under this pathway are required to submit three Career Episodes related to their professional engineering experience. The EA has been observing stringent criteria for evaluating the applications and ensuring the genuinity of information and data presented. The plagiarism checks done by the EA are perhaps the toughest amongst some odd thirty skills assessment bodies assessing varies occupations for Skilled Migration to Australia. Applicants providing fraudulent information or copies data were subject to a ban of 12 months with an advisory note to the Department of Home Affairs on the applicant’s ban.
INCREASE IN THE BAN PERIOD
On 23 August 2019, the EA announced that it could be extending the ban from 12-24 months depending upon the severity of the misleading or false information, plagiarised content or fraudulent documents.
INCREASE IN THE FEE
With effect from 01 September 2019, the Application Fee for a Standard Competency Demonstration Report Assessment application has been increased to AUD$795.00 [excluding GST] and AUD$1,155 [excluding GST] for Competency Demonstration Report +
Relevant Skilled Employment Assessment.
