The ANZSCO [Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations], a skill-based classification used to classify all occupations and jobs in the Australian and New Zealand labour markets has been reviewed and update on 23 November 2021.
While the occupations listed on the ANZSCO are vast, select occupations are available for skilled migration purposes and are included in the lists of eligible occupation- the MLTSSL, STSOL and the ROL.
The Review of occupations and the updated ANZSCO 2021 has included some occupations that are new to the Australian occupation classification system while some popular occupations have been removed. There are also some shifts in the unit groups and changes in the ANZSCO code for some occupations.
The review of updated Occupations that have been added include:
ANZSCO | Name |
225114 | Content Creator [Marketing] |
225115 | Digital Marketing Analyst |
261113 | User Experience Designer [ICT] |
261315 | Cyber Security Engineer |
261316 | Devops Engineer |
261317 | Penetration Tester |
262114 | Cyber Governance Risk and Compliance Specialist |
262115 | Cyber Security Advice and Assessment Specialist |
262116 | Cyber Security Analyst |
262117 | Cyber Security Architect |
262118 | Cyber Security Operations Coordinator |
The occupations likely to be removed have been broadly hinted at in the new ANZSCO. However, the Department of Home Affairs currently does not subscribe to the new ANZSCO. Therefore, the additions or removals of the occupations does not affect the current eligibility of the applicants for Skilled Migration to Australia.
